Want to channel your inner “Reputation” era? (Honestly, who doesn’t?!) Whether you’re heading to the Eras Tour or hosting a Taylor Swift party, this snake jumpsuit is the ultimate showstopper. It looks high-end, but I promise you can pull this off with a little patience and a lot of hot glue.
This DIY was part of our Taylor Swift Galentine’s Party — check out the full party here! →

What You’ll Need
- Black sequin jumpsuit (Find one with a bit of stretch!)
- Red sequin fabric (About a yard should do it)
- Rhinestone trim (The sparklier, the better)
- Hot glue & glue gun
- Thread (Black and red)
- Sewing basics: Needle and pins
Steps
Step 1: Cut the Jumpsuit
First, we need that asymmetrical look. Carefully cut off the left arm and the left leg from your black jumpsuit.
Pro Tip: For a more finished look, fold the edges over and do a quick hem. It keeps the sequins from scratching you all night!

Step 2: Create Your Red Sequin Snakes
Time to get artistic! Draw two snake shapes directly onto the back of your red sequin fabric using a marker or chalk.
Style Note: I made mine slightly curvy to mimic the way they “crawl” up the suit. (This part was so fun!)

Step 3: Pin the Snakes
This part feels a bit like “Pin the Tail on the Donkey,” but it’s the an important step. Pin your snakes onto the jumpsuit.
The Secret: Try the jumpsuit on while the snakes are pinned (be careful not to poke yourself!). If you have a bestie nearby, ask them to help adjust the placement while you’re wearing it so it sits perfectly on your curves.

Step 4: Sew the Snakes
Once you’re happy with the placement, hand-sew the snakes onto the suit using your red thread.
Why Hand-Sew? You could use a machine, but because of the sequins and the awkward placement, hand-sewing gives you way more control. (It’s a bit tedious, but totally worth it for the final look!)

Step 5: Bejewel It!
Now for the best part—the glitter! Take your rhinestone trim and apply it around the edges of the red snakes. I used hot glue for this because it’s fast and holds like a dream.
Hack: If your trim is too wide, you can usually snip it down to one stone wide with jewelry pliers or sharp scissors.

Step 6: Style & Wear!
You’re officially in your Reputation Era!
Final Touch: I highly recommend wearing nude leggings or nylons underneath for comfort and a polished finish. Add a bold red lip, and you are ready to walk into the party like a total boss.

Time + Cost
- Time: 3-4 hours (Put on a Taylor documentary while you work!)
- Cost: Under $50 (Depending on your base jumpsuit).
