Equipment

  • Heart-Shaped Waffle Iron

Ingredients

Red-Velvet Waffles

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 cup red velvet cake mix
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 2 eggs

Cream Cheese Glaze

  • 2 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  • Step 1: Mix All Ingredients
  • Preheat the waffle iron. While it heats up, add all ingredients for the waffles to a bowl and mix. Starting with the wet ingredients will make blending easier.

Step 2: Cook Waffles

  • Once the mix is well-blended and of batter consistency pour portions of the mix into your waffle iron and close. Follow your waffle iron’s cooking indicator or instructions for bake time.
  • Lift waffle iron and remove the waffle once ready. Place on a baking rack to cool.

Step 3: Make Glaze & Drizzle

  • Pour all ingredients for glaze in a bowl. Use a whisk or mixer to blend ingredients until it’s a smooth consistency.
  • Scoop glaze into a pastry bag (or ziplock bag with a tiny corner cut) and drizzle in a zigzag pattern over waffles.
  • Note: If your waffles are still too hot they may absorb your glaze so be patient.
  • That’s it - they are ready to serve and enjoy!

Notes

TIP: You can make this recipe ahead of time and freeze the waffles and bag of glaze. When ready to serve, remove waffles from the freezer and thaw until room temperature. Bake in the oven or toaster. To defrost the glaze, place the bag in a glass of hot water until drizzle-able.
